The Process Begins...

I didn’t realise how tough it would be to get the exact locations and the right people for this video…
Because I had my whole idea planned out and the vision in my head, I thought everything would go fine and it would just work. I didn’t think about problems that could occur or anything, big or small, that may jeopardise the video.
Yes, there were a few problems that changed the outcome of the idea but luckily nothing major has happened, yet…
Firstly, I was looking to shoot the beach scenes at Brighton beach, because a lot of films have been set there, so I know it is a lovely seaside area. However, I didn’t realise how far down south the location was therefore there was no way of travelling there and taking everyone with me. After that, I decided to change the location to Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire, because during the Easter holidays I will easily be able to travel there. Again, there were problems with getting everybody to this location, therefore I decided to take a few people there, shoot the beach scenes, then do some more shots back in Cheltenham with more people. I will be able to link the two areas together by shooting a car scene, perhaps, showing a journey from one place to the other.
I mentioned the problems with getting everybody to the locations and at the time this was a major problem for me, as I wanted the video to have lots of people involved. I was stumped on how to work around this for a while until I came up with the idea to shoot in numerous locations, showing a journey. I believe it’ll work well because the whole video is supposed to show a trip to a concert. By having more than one locations, it gives the audience the idea that the people are actually travelling and not just appear at a concert out of nowhere.
Even though nobody wants problems while working and planning, it helped me realise that sometimes things don’t go the way we planned and helped me take a step back to plan possible problems in the future. Right now I am thinking about the weather and what may have to change if we don’t get a sunny day…
